Q: When are you open?

A: Monday through Friday, 7 A.M. to 6 P.M., excluding holidays.

Q: What if I’m shooting nights, or on weekends?

A: We provide 24 hour on-call assistance 365 days a year. If you need assistance outside of our normal operating hours (see above), you can call our Emergency Pager at (818) 328-6825. Please note that additional equipment orders requested during non-operating hours will carry an opening fee over and above any new rental charges. This fee is subject to change depending on the nature of the service request.

Q: Do you charge for pickup and deliveries?

A: Part of our service agreement with you is that we will provide limited free pick ups and deliveries within the 30 mile studio zone during normal operating hours (see above). If a greater level of assistance is needed, a transportation fee may be considered unless prior arrangements have been made.

Q: What is the rental period?

A: The minimum rental period is one day. Equipment must be returned by 10 A.M. to avoid an extra day charge. Special weekly package rates are available.

Q: If there is a need to ship equipment, how will those charges be billed?

A: All shipments made outside L.A. by air or surface at the renter’s request will be shipped collect, or freight charges will be invoiced separately. All rented equipment returned to us must be shipped prepaid. Rental does not end until equipment is received by Leonetti Company unless previous arrangements have been made.

Q: What kind of insurance do I need?

A: You must provide your own insurance to cover the replacement value of the equipment rented for all loss and damage. Certificates of insurance must come directly from the insurance company and must be made available to Leonetti Company prior to release of equipment. Leonetti Company does not offer in-house insurance coverage at this time. For more details click here for insurance info.

Q: Why do I need insurance to rent equipment?

A: Insurance protects you (the lessee) and us (the lessor) from potentially huge costs in the event that equipment is damaged or lost, or there are equipment-related injuries. Leonetti Company is in no way responsible for any liabilities, claims, costs, or expenses arising out of the use or possession of its equipment. Our equipment is offered for inspection and test at the time of rental.

Q: What if equipment is damaged during the rental period?

A: All equipment is rented in good condition and is to be returned in good condition. Any repair work necessary shall be paid by the renter. If a unit is damaged beyond repair, the renter shall pay the replacement price.

Q: Are all lighting units rented with globes?

A: Yes, globes are included in all rented lights, as well as spares for incandescent (tungsten) lights and one (1) spare for each type of HMI light, unless otherwise specified.

Q: Do I get charged for burned out globes?

A: No, we do not charge for burnouts, provided that all broken and burned out globes are returned and are determined to be broken or burned out due to manufacturing defects or natural causes.

Q: How do I set up an account at Leonetti and how long does it take?

A: Just fill out a credit application (you can print a credit application directly from this site or request a fax copy) and we can usually get your account set up within 24 hours, pending bank approval.

Q: What forms of payment can I use?

A: We accept cash, company and personal checks, credit cards (Master Card*, Visa*, and American Express*), and purchase orders (P.O.’s) from approved accounts. If you have never rented from us before, your first rental will require C.O.D. or a partial payment accompanied by a refundable deposit.

* A 3% processing fee will be charged for all credit card transactions.

Q: What is the difference between incandescent (tungsten) lights and HMI lights?

A: Tungsten lights use globes (bulbs) that work like the light bulbs you have at home, except they are bigger and use a lot more power. HMI lights use special globes that require complex electronic transformers (called ballasts) to produce light. Practically speaking, HMI’s require more technical knowledge to use than Tungsten lights. Photographically, HMI globes produce light that is close to the color temperature of sun light (5600° Kelvin, often called "blue" or "daylight balanced"), whereas Tungsten globes give off a warmer color (3200° Kelvin, often called "orange" or "indoor balanced").

Q: How do I get a Leonetti T-shirt?

A: You can purchase a Leonetti Signature T-shirt online from the Expendable Store, or visit Leonetti Production Supplies located in the Leonetti Company building.
